Aleksandra Zeljković, PhD

Investigator

Aleksandra Zeljković is employed at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade and currently holds an associate professor position. She obtained her PhD in 2011. Her research activities so far included participation in the realization of two national and several international scientific projects, and authorship in more than 70 scientific papers in relevant international and national journals (Hirsch index: 15). Throughout her entire research career, she was interested in alterations of lipid metabolism in various physiological and pathophysiological conditions. The specific focus of her work is related to investigation of different aspects of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) structure and function. Aleksandra Zeljković is a reviewer in numerous international and one national scientific journal. She is a member of the European Network for Oxysterols Research, member of the Education Committee of the Serbian Biochemical Society, as well as member of the Serbian Society for Mitochondrial and Free Radical Physiology and the Society of Medical Biochemists of Serbia.
